Home for the Aged

Money No Enough 2. Not a show i will go and watch on my own. Caught it today cuz AP wanna watch it. Went with her to watch at TM after work. Quite a few scenes of CG in the show, especially the starting part. All i can say is that the CG sucks. Very unrealistic. But i dun blame them cuz i know they have a budget constraint. Other than that, the show was quite ok, with some parts so funny that i laughed till my stomach hurts. 

There's one scene showing hui ge sending his mother the the Home for the Aged. Upon reaching the staff explained to his mother that this is a place for the aged to be happy. The aged mother looked around at all the other elderly and none of them was wearing a smile on their faces. 

This reminds me of sth that happened years ago. When my parents decided to send my grandpa to the Home for the Aged. My Grandpa then had diabetes and was always quarreling or fighting with my grandma. He practiced v bad hygiene and had a stench on home. My parents have no time to take care of him and eventually the decision was made to send him there. 

I didn't get to see him much after that. Once. And i was shocked when i saw him. He grew so much skinner. And the sad look on his face. He doesn't raise his voice anymore. In fact doesn't even speak much. The next time i saw him, he was already lying in his coffin. 

Thats y i never agree with people sending their parents to the old folks home. And i will never do that to my own parents.

Saboteur

Went with Choon Lim & pai kai to join this record breaking event after work today. Organised by the NVPC and sponsored by Settlers Cafe. Got their free membership juz joining this event. Not a bad deal. Was in grp 9 and we played in grps of 10. Total no. of pple playing was 200+ i think. Played this game before but this time round it seems more fun. For those interested, lets go Settlers Cafe sometime.

spent the whole day in office on this date. didn't really have the mood to work today and i basically spent the whole day helping out to set up for the company bbq tonite. half the day was spent helping Melisa out with the planning of the games. the other half helping out here and there.

2 new additions to our company 'recreation corner' today. a magnetic dart board and a table soccer which costs $700plus. i wonder wats next.

company bbq today was quite fun. was actually a celebration for those colleagues whose birthday's in August. that includes me as well and so its considered my first birthday celebration for this year. didn't ate the cake though. somehow i got tired of cakes recently.

besides the bbqing and some drinking games, much of the night was spent on the table soccer and TABLE-TENNIS! ended the night playing table-tennis with Terence till around 1.20am! by then only a few of us remain. namely those big shots in the company and me. gradually got back my feel in table-tennis and i actually played till i sweat. reminds me of those times i beat Alan a few years back.

anyway time to go sleep. gonna wake up early tmr for paintball. bye.

table-tennis and pool table

its been sometime since i last played table-tennis. got to play today after work, juz when i was about to go home. my colleague invite me to play when i past by the lobby. in case your guys dunno, my boss bought a table-tennis table and a pool table to be placed at our office level 1 lobby. so now i can enjoy a game of pool after lunch or play a game of table-tennis after work.

was told that our new office building will have a tennis court at the roof-top, and even a basketball court. it'll only be up in about 2 years time though. well you can guess that i'm starting to love my workplace.

No. 48

that's my unlucky number for today's ippt. 1st time i'm late for the ippt. 1st time cat 'Y'. 1st time they fix surv cam at the stations. 1st time so chaotic during the test. only a few PTIs there and everything was so disorganized. saw Wei Xiong there when i reach. he told me that he's juz there for the attendance. he can't pass n need not to go RT even if he fail, thus even less motivation to pass. true enuff his wish came true. 

for me i simply breezed through the 5 static stations and started my 2.4km run after resting only abt 5 mins. result, whole ippt test took me less than 1 hr. went in after 4pm n i was out before 5pm. past few ippts i took ended ard 6plus. 


result is, i missed my silver! timing was 12mins38secs! gave up during the 4th round and i decided to take it easy. at least i dun have to collapse on the grass after the run like i always did. result, total 19 points. incentive. $100. 

durian!

tonite is the fourth nite in 2 weeks that i'm having durian for supper. blame it on my parents who've been buyin back the durians, and myself unable to succumb to the temptation.

                    

2.4km dry run

due to the rain for the past few days, i only managed to run tonight. my 2nd run this year in prep for my ippt on this sat. timing today was 12min49secs. slight improvement over my 13min11secs 2-3 weeks ago. my new pair of running shoes is good though.  my soles didn't hurt at all after the run. 

now that i'm in Cat 'Y', all the more i shld get a silver juz like i've always did. but this time around it seems so much harder and i haven't got enough time to prepare for it. all the best to me on this sat.
